Safety Guidelines for Use of Cellphones while Driving
My usual advise is not to use the cellphone while driving. And Never Ever text while driving. In Maryland where I live it is illegal to text and drive.
However, even I at times will need to talk on the cellphone while driving. So If you must use cell phone while in the car, the following safety guidelines may help:
• Get to know your phone and its features, such as speed dial and redial.
• Always dial while the car isn’t moving.
• Never use the phone in heavy traffic or bad weather.
• Use speed dialing as much as possible.
• Use a hands-free phone.
• Never look up phone numbers while driving.
• Never have stressful conversations while driving.
• Keep your eyes on the road while on the phone.
• Do not take notes while driving.
Many of these relate to being certain that you aren’t distracted while driving. Please drive safe. The life you save my be your own.
