Things to do When You Get a New Computer
1) Create an Administrators and a Users account.
Use the user account for normal work and only use the Administrators account when required. Each of these accounts needs a password and that they should not be the same.
2) Remove any preinstalled trial software.
Many systems will come with trail versions of games and othe applications that you will never use. It’s best to remove them at the beginning.
3 ) Turn on the operating system’s firewall.
This firewall is strong enough to help prevent many internet problems.
4) Install and activate Anti-Virus software.
Do each of the above items before connecting to the internet.
5) Update software.
This would include your Operating System and especially your Anti-Virus.
6) Be proactive against spyware and adware.
It’s better to have the protection before you get infected than trying to remove it once it is installed.
