In the too good to be true department
Update:
When checking the website on 2/8/07 at 3:30 it says this service is no longer available. I guess it really was too good to be true.

Do you want to make nearly free International calls? This seems too good to be true, but it’s been mentioned by others so I will as well.
A company calling themselves Future Fone Services and can be found at www.futurephone.com has a service that by dialing one of their gateway number, currently the only number available is in Iowa, after it answers you can dial an International number to one of the countries they have available. They claim is for over 50 countries.
They have a Question and Answer page that other than the cost of the call by your carrier to their number the call is free. Since many people have unlimited long-distance service the call is free. They claim to have No hidden charges.
As quoted from their site:
“ What’s the catch?
There is none. We do not require any information from you at all. We respect your privacy and want you to utilize our services without concerns about confidentiality. We simply want you to use this services, tell your friends about it and soon we will have some other amazing offers for you on this site. “
They say that their plan to to have the service to remain free until 2010, but do hope to introduce other products and services in the future.
I’m not sure how they plan to keep the service running. No one can afford to give something away for nothing. My feelings are that sometime they will be forcing people to listen to an advertisement before allowing the call to go through, but that’s just my opinion and not fact. We’ll just have to wait to see. But in the meantime it appears there may be something that is too good to be true.
