Another game of numbers continued … A party in hell
I know, you are thinking this is a technology blog, and what does all of this have to do with technology? Nothing. But since today is Sunday and not a usual workday, I thought I’d put in this additional bit of irrelevance.
As I said with the last post of May, with my monthly numbers game post, on this Tuesday the numbers 666 will appear a few times. In fact at six seconds after the sixth minute past six, numbers will line up as 06:06:06 06/06/06, for a hellish second.
Now I’ve found that there will be a party in Hell. Hell, Michigan that is. Hell, Michigan is a community in Livingston County, Putnam Township near the border with Washtenaw County about 20 miles northwest of Ann Arbor The exact coordinates for your GPS device, that’s how technology gets in this post, is 42°26′05″N, 83°59′06″W. Hell has a population of 266 and the ZIP Code is 48169.

Coming this summer is a date that will occur only once in our lifetime: June 6, 2006. What’s so special about that, you may ask? Well, we here in Hell recognize that date as 6-6-6, so we’re throwing a party! Everyone is invited to visit us on that day to commemorate the occasion. Live entertainment will perform until midnight, and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. After all, this is the town where Halloween is celebrated all year long.
There’s even fun stuff planned for the kids. Creepy Clyde will entertain the “Lil’ Devils” at Screams with his spooky songs from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. Additionally, visitors to our store can enjoy small ice cream cones and sundaes for only 66 cents all day long, right up until midnight. We’re not evil … we’re just taking advantage of an excuse to have fun! Come on out to Hell for a good time. We’ll see you on 6-6-6!

So it looks as if they are going to be partying like it’s 1999 in Hell this week. So please take a second to think about Hell and maybe even wish you were there. One of the nice things about being in Hell you only have to drive about 245 miles to be in Paradise. That’s also in Michigan.
